Payments
Record what a customer paid and see every payment in one list.
View as MarkdownRecording a payment
Open an invoice and press Add payment. Fill in the Amount, Paid on date, a Method (Bank transfer, Cash, Card or Other) and an optional Reference. Zero is refused — a payment has to actually move the invoice forward.
Mark as paid is the shortcut for the common case: it records one bank payment for exactly the invoice's open amount, dated today, without opening the form.
Removing a payment recalculates the invoice on the spot: a Paid invoice can drop back to Sent or Overdue if the payment that made it paid is removed.
A credit note never takes a payment — only an invoice does.
The payments list
Sales → Payments lists every payment recorded across all your invoices, with Date, Invoice, Method, Reference and Amount columns, filterable by From date, To date and Method. Clicking a row opens the invoice the payment belongs to.
