Assistant
Ask questions about how Borkol works, where to find the assistant, the daily question limit and what it does with your data.
View as MarkdownThe assistant answers questions about how Borkol works, in your language, using the same guides you are reading now. Ask it where a setting lives, how a step works or what a status means, and it points you to the right page.
What it answers
- How Borkol works. Where to find a screen, how to send a quote, finalize a pay run, set shipping methods or invite a teammate. Answers link to the matching guide page.
- What it does not do. It does not see your business data: no orders, contacts, invoices, payslips or prices. It cannot look up a record, calculate taxes or tell you what a figure on your dashboard means. It only explains how Borkol works.
Because it reads only the public guides and what you type, do not type BSNs, passwords or other personal data. The message under the question box says the same: Don't type BSNs, passwords or other personal data. The assistant explains how Borkol works and does not see your records.
Where to find it
- In the dashboard. The sparkle button in the bar above the page, next to the notifications bell (Ask the assistant), opens the assistant in a panel on the right, on any page.
- As a page. Help in your account menu has Ask the assistant, which opens the full Assistant page (
/assistant) with your list of conversations next to the chat. - In the mobile app. Open More and tap Assistant. The row only shows when the assistant is switched on for your business.
An empty conversation shows What can I help with? with a few suggested questions. Pick one or type your own and press Enter to send.
The daily limit
Each question you send uses one of your business's daily questions. In the dashboard a bar above the messages shows {used} of {limit} questions today, for example "12 of 50 questions today", with the percentage used next to it. The mobile app shows the same count as a line of text, without the bar and percentage.
- One shared budget. Everyone on your team uses the same daily budget. The limit comes from your plan; the platform admin can set a different limit for your business. The default is 50 questions a day.
- Reset. The count starts again at midnight, Amsterdam time.
- Limit reached. The bar (in the mobile app, the text line) then says Daily limit reached. Resets {time}. and you can ask again after that time.
- Switched off. If the platform admin turned the assistant off for your business, the Assistant page says The assistant is switched off for this business., and the sparkle button and the mobile Assistant row are hidden.
Conversations
- Start a new one. Use New conversation (the pencil button in the panel, the button on the page and in the mobile app). The assistant remembers earlier questions inside a conversation, not across conversations.
- Delete one. On the Assistant page use Delete conversation and confirm with Delete this conversation? This cannot be undone. In the mobile app, press and hold a conversation.
- Only yours. Team members see only their own conversations, not each other's.
- Kept for 90 days. Conversations are removed automatically after 90 days.
- Long conversations. In a long conversation the assistant only takes the most recent messages into account. Start a new conversation for a new topic.
Limits
- A question can be at most 4000 characters; longer text shows Shorten your question to 4000 characters.
- The assistant answers one question at a time: Wait for the current answer to finish.
- If it cannot answer (for example when the service is busy), it says The assistant could not answer right now. Try again. A failed question does not count against your daily limit.
- Answers can be wrong. Check important steps in the guide page the answer links to.
For account owners
The platform admin sets the daily limit per plan (Assistant questions per day) and can override it for a single business; a limit of 0 turns the assistant off for that business. You cannot change it yourself.
